"Once Upon A Time" Patsi was born on September 30, 1940 to Sidney Vearl and Josephine Maxine Aaron in Shreveport, LA and went to be with her Lord and Savior "Happily Ever After" on October 31, 2017. She was 77 years old. She had a capacity to love that knew no bounds and loved life and people with that same limitless capacity and passion. Those that met her always felt welcome, comforted, and special. Patsi's childhood was spent riding and caring for horses in her father's stables, helping on the farm, and reading. She accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age and was miraculously healed by His power from severe asthma as child. As a young woman, she worked as a telephone switch operator and attended Northwestern State University for over 3 years before leaving to become an airline stewardess. As a stewardess, she travelled the world and met her husband, Frank, in Pennsylvania with whom they had a son, Sid, whom she adored and would have raised all over again if she could. She was later blessed with two loving granddaughters whom she adored even more, and with whom she had a very special mutual bond. She loved all sorts of music, from Dixieland to classical, and she loved parades. She also loved to travel, read, work crossword puzzles, dance, and spend time with her family, especially her granddaughters.
Patsi was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Vearl Aaron and her brother, Jerry Clyde Aaron. Left to cherish her beautiful memories are her mother, Josephine Maxine Aaron; husband of 47 years, Franklin Russell Shaffer; son, Sidney Russell Shaffer and wife Emily; grandchildren, Maxine Catherine Shaffer and Madeline Josephine Shaffer; brothers, Danny Aaron and wife Beverly, Dennis Wayne Aaron and wife Glenda; sister, Danita Dianne Carter and husband Michael as well as a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews, many of whom considered "Aunt Patsi" a second mother.
Patsi has a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Those left behind can take comfort in knowing, that they know, that they know, she is certainly with the Lord in heaven living happily ever after.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Life Center, home of Life Tabernacle or The American Cancer Society.
