Services celebrating the life of Dorothy Elaine Kneipp, 95, will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Russell Hall. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015. Dorothy was born December 12, 1919 to J.C. and Arsene Foster in Lemoyen, LA and passed away March 31, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. She graduated from Morrow High School and Charity Hospital School of Nursing. She served as a Captain in the Army Nurse Corp from 1943 through 1946. She was proud to have served in the field hospital with Patton's Third Army. She was a registered nurse and retired from Schumpert Medical Center after serving as head nurse of Cardiac Unit. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William J. Kneipp. She is survived by her sons, Charles and Jo Kneipp, Paul and Therese Kneipp; grandsons, Lucas and Kelly Kneipp, Thomas and Megan Kneipp, Greg and Erin Kneipp, and Tyler Kneipp; great-grands, Julie, Dylan, and Addison; various nieces and dear friend, Maggie Kneipp. Serving Dorothy as pallbearers will be her grandsons Lucas, Thomas, Greg and Tyler and her sons, Paul and Charles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to, Belcher Veterans Memorial, P.O. Box 149 Belcher, Louisiana 71004.
