A visitation will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church from 10:00am til 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 23, 2014. A Mass for family and friends will follow at 12:00 noon with Father Charles Glorioso presiding. Burial will be at Forest Park West, 4000 Meriwether Rd. Shreveport, LA under the direction of Boone Funeral Home.
"Doc" was born in Granite City, Illinois on April 3, 1938 and passed away on December 19, 2014. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. "Doc" was an educator in Bossier Parish for 45 years. She began teaching physical education at Rusheon Junior High in 1960; then transferred to Bossier High School and finally ended her teaching and coaching career as Professor Of Health and Physical Education at Bossier Parish Community College. Her true love was teaching; however, she also enjoyed coaching basketball, softball, volleyball, track and field, and tennis. In addition she was a basketball referee and softball slow pitch and fast pitch umpire at the recreational, high school and collegiate levels.

"Doc" was preceded in death by her Mother, Eileen Massey LaBarbera and Father Joseph LaBarbera and special friend Jacque Buhler. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Elizabeth Jaudon, nephews Joseph McMillon, Michael McMillon and wife, Sharon, their children, Steven, Daniel and Anna. Honorary nephew, Jack Hardy and wife Cheryl, special friends Ken and Jeannie Smith, Jacque Perkins, the Perkins family, Dana Taravella, Babs Dean, Frank and Jan Book, and former students and colleagues. We would also like to thank Dr. Michael Angelo and the nurses and staff at Willis Knighton Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or make a donation of your choice.
