A graveside service for Daryle Mae Stephenson, 93, will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. Stuart Freeman of University Church of Christ in Shreveport. Daryle was born on June 8, 1928 to Lawrence Thompson and Lucille Mae Burt Thompson in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Daryle was married to her husband, Jeff Stephenson, for 44 years. She was the mom to four children, grandmother to four children, and four great-grandchildren. Daryle loved music. She played the dulcimer and autoharp. She volunteered as an Adult Literacy Tutor and Adult Literacy Trainer for 20 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Stephenson; and daughter, Cheryl Stephenson. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Amie Mitchell and husband, Tim, Julie Murphree and husband, Randy; son, Mark Stephenson and wife, Stacy; grandchildren, James Murphree and Sarah Panzarella, Eryn Blackburn and Peri Stephenson; and four great-grandchildren. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Willis-Knighton Pierremont and the staff of Montclair Assisted Living for the wonderful care they took of Daryle.
