Marilynn Johnson Steiner, 62, of Mooringsport, LA passed away at home after a lengthy illness on April 4, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Trees Baptist Church in Vivian, LA officiated by Rev. Mark Crook. Burial will follow at Mooringsport Memorial Gardens Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 6-8 pm on Friday, April 8th at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, LA.
Marilynn was born February 4, 1954 in Kilgore, TX to Grady Lee Johnson and Mary Ellender Allen Johnson. She lived in Mooringsport since 1993 after moving from Laurel, MS with her husband and children. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vivian. She and Carl were married at Trees Baptist Church 45 years ago this year. She loved working in the yard, especially growing flowers. She enjoyed working on her house, doing remodeling and painting.
Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Carl E. Steiner Jr. of Mooringsport, LA, her 4 children; Shelley Goddard and husband Scott of Laurel, MS, Trey Steiner and wife Tracy of Mooringsport, LA, Jason Steiner and wife Olivia of Vivian, LA and Gary Steiner of Mooringsport, LA, her 8 grandchildren; Brock Morris, Dylan Morris, Camdyn Goddard, Lauren Steiner, Catherine Steiner, Ethan Steiner, Amos Steiner and Audie Steiner, her sister; Ruby Johnson Bousaid and husband Sam of Wimberley, TX.
Pallbearers will be Carl, Trey, Jason, and Gary Steiner, Scott Goddard, Brock and Dylan Morris.
