Shreveport/Mooringsport, LA- Graveside services for Betty Fritz Heinisch Williamson will be held at Mooringsport Memorial Gardens Monday, May 1st at 11:00 a.m. with a reception following at Mooringsport Baptist Church. Officiating will be The Very Rev. Alston B. Johnson, Dean of St. Mark's Cathedral. A visitation in Shreveport will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Marshall St. Sunday, April 30th from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Betty was born December 2, 1929 in Shreveport and broke the surly bonds of Parkinson's April 27, 2017. She was a lifelong resident of Mooringsport until she entered Heritage Manor Stratmore in 2007. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked outside the home early in life at Chichester's Grocery and later in life at the Mooringsport Parish Library. She was a member of the Mooringsport Baptist Church and one would be challenged to find a more unassuming, gentle, sweet and caring Christian. Betty lived much of her life on Caddo Lake and loved to fish. She was successful catching white perch on Caddo to native cutthroat trout from the Snake River in Wyoming. She became a hunter when she married one, hunting deer locally and in the Texas Hill Country. She loved reading; flowers (especially petunias and zinnias); birds (especially cardinals); and blue, blue sky. Most of all Betty loved her family who loved her in return.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mattie D. Wilkinson Cook Heinisch and Frederick Heinisch; siblings Nellie L. Cook Seybert, James O. Cook and David W. Cook; and by her loving husband Rob Allen Williamson. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lois Williamson Sprayberry; children Robert Williamson (Sandra) & Judy Williamson Walker (Bill); grandchildren Sean Williamson (Christy); Shannon Williamson Mahan (James); Laura Williamson Robinson (Hart); Matthew Walker (Shelley); Sarah Walker Hughes (Travis); and Rachel Walker Ashlock (Daniel). She is survived by 15 great-grandchildren: Skyler, Callie & Slater Williamson; Edie & Eloise Mahan; Griggs, Ware, Hardwicke & Hart Robinson; Mattie & Kaysen Walker; Grayson & Mack Hughes; Olivia & Ace Ashlock; plus numerous nieces & nephews. Betty is also survived by her lifelong and most loyal friend Earl Holliman who after she entered Stratmore would call, send books, candy and flowers. He said to the family "she was the sharp kid next door that loved to read as he did".

Pallbearers will be Matthew Walker, Travis Hughes, Daniel Ashlock, James Mahan & Hart Robinson.

The family thanks the entire staff of Stratmore who cared for Betty for years as Parkinson's slowly took its toll. Equal thanks are extended to Dr. Robert Hernandez and Life Path Hospice who enriched Betty's life. If memorials are made suggestions are Mooringsport Baptist Church and Help4HopeAfrika.
