BENTON, LA - Funeral services for Donald Phillip Baker, 79, will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Beadle, pastor of First Baptist Church of Benton. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport, LA. Visitation with the family will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA.

Don was born in Shreveport, LA to Albert Love and Peggy Leone Baker on October 22, 1934 and died August 11, 2014 in Benton, LA. He retired from Riley Beard as a Quality Control Supervisor with over 30 years of service. Don was a active member of the First Baptist Church of Benton and loved his church and family. He was also an active member of the NRA, was a musician, avid hunter and a ham radio operator.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Erkle Lee Baker of Benton, LA; son, Barry Baker and wife, Kathy of Bellingham, WA; daughters, Dona Robertson and husband, Kim and Debbie Baker all of Baton Rouge, LA; brother, Dr. Dudley Baker of Belton, TX; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Honoring him as pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Robertson, Andrew Robertson, Nicholas Brooks and friend, Tim Parker.
