June 14, 1962 - March 24, 2017
Lisa Rene Ursery Wisby was born on June 14, 1962 and passed away on March 24, 2017, at home surrounded by family after a courageous and tough battle with cancer.
A celebration of Lisa's life will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation immediately following at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 8400 Kingston Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. A private burial will be held at Forest Park West.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Dora Ursery and mother-in-law, Hazel Wisby. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 34 years, Robert Wisby, daughter Rebecca Smith and husband Kyle, and son, Austin. Others include her father-in-law, John Wisby, siblings Lyndal Wilkinson (Lamar), Dan Ursery (Sandra) and Vickie Kelly (Scott), brother-in-law, Mike Wisby, several nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends Lawrence and Connie Calhoun, and Godchildren Taylor Calhoun (Jessica) and Logan Calhoun (Caroline).
Lisa was a longtime member of the Shreveport Aqua Katz Water Ski Club where she met Robert. She was a selfless and loving mother who began a medical transcription service to work from home and spend more time with her children. Her flexible schedule allowed her to take yearly trips to Arkansas and the beach with her family, where they created some of their fondest memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
