Julia Edgar Beckett
Julia, beloved by so many, passed away on January 26, 2017. The celebration of her life will be in the chapel of Broadmoor United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 4 p.m. Officiating will be Reverend Kathy Wafer and Reverend Greg Davis.
Julia was born November 1, 1918 in Clark County, Mississippi to William Joseph & Cora Lee Evans. She was the youngest of her nine siblings who, along with her parents, went to be with the Lord many years ago.
Also preceding her in death were her first husband, John A. Edgar and her second husband, Jack L. Beckett, her devoted son, John Evans Edgar, her infant daughter, Barbara Ann Edgar and her great granddaughter, Julia Kate Gerald.
She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Hargrave and husband, Skip, John Evans Edgar Jr. and wife, Michelle, Connie Edgar Gerald and husband, Barry, ten great grandchildren and twin great-great-grandsons as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Julia was a member of Broadmoor Methodist for 67 years. After her retirement from Interiors Incorporated, she enjoyed many years of volunteer service; the Fidelis Bible Class-Friendship, UMW, Singing Seniors, The Flower Committee, Senior Game Day, and Broadmoor Chapter 233 Order of the Eastern Star.
