Doris R. Fuller was born October 1, 1932 in Jena, Louisiana to Jefferson Davis Roark and Velda McClendon Roark. Our sweet loving mother went to be with her Lord on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2021. She is with her sweetie and loved ones who went before her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, D.M. "Doc" Fuller, her adored son, Joe Allen Fuller; sister, Myrtis Griffith and many more loved ones. Left to cherish her memory is her loving brother, Larry D. Roark and wife, Dianna; her children, Patricia F. Benfield and husband, Charles, Davis M. Fuller and partner, Debra Lobrano, Michael C. Fuller and wife, Joni H. Fuller, and Amelia F. Hodge and husband, H.L. Jay Hodge and Wendall S. Fuller; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; her cousin and best friend, Harvey Lee McClendon; and all of her friends from The Bradford. Doris graduated from Bossier High School. She worked at Weingartens Grocery Store for many years. Her hobbies included reading, bird watching, gardening, drawing, painting and fishing. She always outfished dad! Mom and dad moved to Lake Bistineau in 1984 and had a wonderful retirement living their dream. Our mother was the sweetest person and had a beautiful smile. Mom and dad were the greatest! They were parents and friends with all the children in the neighborhood and always had a door open for them. As she was fond of saying, "I'm as fine as a frog hair." We're sure she is! Memorial services will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Sam Mason. The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice for all the care, support and compassion given to Doris at her time of need.
