SHREVEPORT, LA-Funeral services celebrating the life of Genell Skains Meacham, 90, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 at Rose-Neath\'s Southside Chapel with Rev. Willis Dear officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the funeral home. Genell was born on April 1, 1924 in Downsville, LA to Daniel Basil Skains and Eula V Wilson Skains and passed away on August 14, 2014. She was a life long member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Downsville, LA. She was an owner of Meacham Mobile Home Movers. Genell was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She had the kindest heart and loved doing anything for her children and others. She will be remembered as the best momma and mamaw ever. She now resides in her home on the streets of gold and has been reunited with her husband of 72 years, the father she lost at two years old, her momma, and all of her other siblings and family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Deuard N. Meacham; numerous brothers and sisters; sons-in-law, Joe A. Festervan, Jr. and Billy Rex Stewart, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Barbara McComic Meacham. She is survived by her son, David Earl Meacham; daughters, Delores Meacham Festervan, Virginia Meacham Stewart and Belinda Meacham Jones and husband, Danny who was like a son; grandchildren, Rex Stewart, Jim Festervan, Jeremy Meacham, Brandon Stewart, Brian Stewart, Steven Jones, Jamie McCoy, Susie Temple, Daniel Festervan, and Gavin Jones; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters, Mae Smith and Dorothy Brantley; brother-in-law, Wade Meacham; sisters-in-law, Sara Bearden, Christine Bearden and Ora Lee Russell. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Rex Stewart, Jim Festervan, Jeremy Meacham, Brandon Stewart, Brian Stewart, Steven Jones, Daniel Festervan, and Gavin Jones. Donations may be made to the University of Louisville Heart Research or the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy or to the charity of your choice.
