SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Wyoma "Brenda" Burkhalter Morvan, 73, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, LA. Dr. B.J. Rocky Maddox will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Brenda was born on October 7, 1942 in Linden, TX to Herman and Margaret Burkhalter and passed away on January 16, 2016. She was a long time member of Rose Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd Joseph Morvan, son Sam Morvan, 5 brothers and 1 sister. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Kenneth Hartner and wife, Jeanie of Shreveport, LA and Gregory Morvan of Shreveport, LA; daughters, Sybil Smith and husband, Stacy of Bullard, TX and Despino Morvan of Shreveport, LA; 5 granddaughters, 3 grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren; Madel Stone and husband, Willie of Shreveport, LA, Rhodene Stephens of Queen City, TX and David Burkhalter and wife, Judy of Hughes Springs, TX along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Honoring Brenda as pallbearers will be Kenneth Hartner, Jr., Stacy E. Smith, David Burkhalter, Issac Burkhalter, and James White.
