June 10, 1975 - February 10, 2021
Shannon McClary Burton, age 45, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Shannon was born June 10, 1975 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Larry and Tracy McClary.
Shannon graduated from Grawood Christian Academy and attended Louisiana Tech University. She worked as a volunteer for abuse victims at the YWCA. Shannon also worked with three and four year old children at First Baptist Church in Bossier City. She later worked as collection manager at Westwood Auto Sales. She had a beautiful singing voice which gave evidence to her love for music. She loved to see the leaves changing during her favorite season of fall. Shannon had a great love for animals and was always rescuing strays. She had a childlike manner to her which led to a beautiful personality. Shannon will be remembered and missed by all her family and friends.
Shannon is survived by her parents; husband, David "chip" Burton; daughter,Juliana Davis; sister, Regina Hopkins; brothers, Jared McClary and spouse Lokahi Delovio, and Jeremy McClary; stepsons Colby Burton and Drake Burton.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents John and Josephine McClary; maternal grandparents, William and Elise Holt; infant daughter, Lily McClary.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Interment will take place in Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana 71109. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Sanchez, Rick Sanchez, Colby Burton, Drake Burton, Casey Martin, and Billy Melancon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Centers of America. The family would like to thank Christus Schumpert Hospice Care, especially Denise Killen, chaplain Woody, social worker Johnette, and hospice nurse Amanda.
