A graveside service for Billie Sue Stump Dowden, 92, will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana.
Billie was born September 8, 1930 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Fred Kimberlin and Gladys Lynn Kimberlin Stump and passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was adopted by Albert D. Stump.
Billie was a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a homemaker. She graduated from Byrd High School and married John Larkin Dowden on April 15, 1950. She worked as a sales associate at Sears for many years. She was an avid crafter, but her passion and priority was being a wife, mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Larkin Dowden; sister, Bettye Stump Wade; son, Larkin Dowden; and grandson, Matthew Larkin Dowden. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Susan Dowden Modica and husband, Guy; four grandchildren, Tony Modica and wife, Wendy, Christie Baron and husband, Chris, Danielle Canova and husband, Brad, Walter Modica and wife, Julie; and 11 great-grandchildren.
