SHREVEPORT, LA- Funeral services for Virginia Lucas Hammett, 77, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Crider. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
Virginia was born April 20, 1935 in Manifest, LA to Monroe and Lola Lucas. She passed away on June 16, 2012 in Shreveport.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, H.E. Hammett; and son, Gary Lynn Hammett. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Terry Glynn Hammett and wife, Vallie, and Scott Hammett and wife, Paula; daughter-in-law, Robbi Hammett; and grandchildren, Jeremy Robert Hammett, Ryan Andrew Hammett, Mark Randall Hammett, Brent Steven Hammett, Ashley Diana Hammett, Tara Elizabeth Hammett, and Clay Marshall Hammett.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Hammett, Mark Hammett, Gary Mahan, Richard Patterson, Clay Hammett, Scott Hammett, and Terry Hammett. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Andrew Hammett and Brent Steven Hammett.
