A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Nancy Mae Wright, 92, of Beckville, Texas will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery East in Shreveport, Louisiana under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Family visitation will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday followed by a Rosary held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Wright died, November 16, 2012 in Longview, Texas.
Mrs. Nancy Mae Lindley Wright was born December 14, 1919 in Cisco, Texas to James Eli and Ida Mae Karnes Lindley. After completing business college she married Col. David Edward Wright, Jr., July 29, 1945 and they celebrated 64 years of marriage before his death in 2009.
Nancy, was among other things the first woman buyer for Harrison and Company Shoe Store in the early 40’s, she managed the Girl Scouts and was a true restorer of antiquities, owning her own shop, the Rusty Bucket in Waskom for many years.
Mrs. Wright was a self made person, building her home, learning all trades necessary from the ground up to accomplish her goal. She was a spiritual and devout Catholic, caring, loving and kind to animals and everyone she knew. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, George and James Woodrow Lindley, sister, Ruth Lindley Gray, son, James Lindley O’Quin Wright and grandson, Seamus Wright.
Mrs. Wright is survived by her children, Nancy Brenda Wright of San Francisco, CA, David Edward Wright, III of Shreveport, LA, George Wilson Wright of Beckville, Renata Marie Rangel of Beckville, Brunette Camille Hossner and husband Eric of Rockwall, sister, Chloe Nadine Warda of Carthage, grandchildren, Robert Nathaniel Hensley of Houston, Jorge Arturo Rangel of Beckville, Alison Sarah and Julia Sydney Hossner both of Rockwall, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
