Shreveport - Francine passed away February 6, 2021 at the age of 74. Family and friends will celebrate a Mass of Resurrection in honor of her at St. Michael the Archangel Chapel on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Presiding will be Father Ampatt.

Francine graduated from C.E. Byrd High School and embarked on a career in teaching at Louisiana Tech. It was here that she met the love of her life, David. They were married in 1968. She retired after 24 years of teaching from the Caddo Parish School Board upon the death of her beloved. After her retirement, she became an active volunteer at Hope House as well as a donor to LifeShare Blood Center. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Francine and David M. Huckabee raised two daughters together during their 41 years of marriage. Surviving are these two wonderful daughters and their awesome families: Chrissy Washer and husband, David, and Amy Free; five terrific grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob, Anthony, Cheyenne and Madilyn; two brothers and their wives, Dickie Midyett (twin) and wife, Diana, Vic Midyett and wife, Olga; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David and her parents, William Eugene and Frances Hardeman Midyett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Francine Huckabee's name to LifeShare Blood Center, Hope House, The Carpenter House or St. John Berchmans Cathedral.
