Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Mrs. Mitchell Gaspard, 63, the former Priscilla Ann Meche, who passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Mrs. Gaspard was a native of Prairie Basse and a resident of New Iberia since 1965. She was a graduate of Sunset High School, class of 1964. Her hobbies, which she loved, were ceramics, fishing and family. Mrs. Gaspard was a parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia.

Survivors include her husband of forty-five years, Mitchell Gaspard, of New Iberia; one daughter, Kristi Gaspard of Maurice; two sons, Todd Gaspard and his wife, Jana, of Houston, and Michael Gaspard of California; three grandchildren, Sydney Nicole Gaspard, Mia Jolyce Gaspard and Liam Mark Gaspard; one brother, Wayne J. Meche and his wife, Elaine, of Prairie Basse; one sister, Carolyn S. Stein and her husband, Robert, of Prairie Basse; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Theodore and Georgia Sellers, of Carencro; two nephews Neil Meche and Edward Stein; and one niece Vanessa Domingue.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Odon Joseph Meche and the former Wilma Thomas, both natives of Prairie Basse.

A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday and will continue from 8 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Ted Sellers, Neil Meche, Wayne Meche, Robert Stein, Edward Stein and Todd Gaspard.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Mata and Dr. Gulotta of Iberia Medical and Dr. Karen Roden of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center and her caregiver, Theresa Wagner.
