LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro for Romona V. Begnaud, age 75, the former Romona Vigee, who passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette. The Rev. C Ann Sutton, pastor of Northwood United Methodist Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Begnaud was a native of Iota and a resident of Lafayette. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whom will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Wilfred Begnaud, Sr. of Lafayette; one son, Freddy Begnaud of Carencro; one son-in-law, Wayne Courville of Carencro; four grandchildren, Brandi Sonnier and her husband, Bryan, Michael Courville and his wife, Heather, Brent Courville and his wife, Renee, and Kari Begnaud; one great grandchild, Leighton Courville; one brother, Harvey Vigee of Eunice; and one sister, Betty Bertrand of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Vigee and the former Eva McDaniel; one daughter, Connie Lynn Courville; and one brother, Oran Vigee.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Michael Courville, Brent Courville, Bryan Sonnier, Darren Bertrand, Derrick Bertrand and Michael Sonnier.
