LAFAYETTE - Funeral services for Peggy Joyce Wilkinson will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 116 E. Bluebird Drive, Lafayette, LA. Mama (Peggy) passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Lafayette surrounded by her family.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
President Joel P. Broussard of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will officiate the funeral services.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Hubbard and Brenda Higbee (Bob); three sons, Thomas Lee Cotchaleovitch (Jean), John Martin Cotchaleovitch (Robin) and Joseph "Joey" Wuertenberg, Jr. (Marta); thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Amos and Wilma Hutley (Bob); and one brother, W.G. "Mac" McFarland (Roseann).
She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Wallace A. Wilkinson; her parents, W. W. McFarland and Minnie Lee Sanders McFarland; and two sisters, Margaret Alton and Louise Hillman.
Peggy Wilkinson was born in Pensacola, Florida on December 1, 1934 and was a resident of Lafayette and Ville Platte, Louisiana for many years. She was a woman of many talents and abilities, including establishing Peggy's Poodle Parlor in Lafayette, being a cook on an oil rig and running her own daycare center. She was also very talented when it came to restoring her many treasures. Peggy enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by all.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Cotchaleovitch, John Cotchaleovitch, Joey Wuertenberg, Bob Higbee, Chris Higbee and David Wuertenberg. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hyrum Wuertenberg, Joseph Wuertenberg, Andrew Lee Higbee, Marty Cotchaleovitch, Chad Cotchaleovitch, Thomas Cotchaleovitch, Lee Cotchaleovitch and Kevin Hubbard.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location beginning on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
