udith Harson Weathers
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012, at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Judith Harson Weathers, 71, who died on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Reverend Steven C. LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Michael Harson and Jamie Harson Vickery. Giftbearers will be Eli Weathers, Seth Harson and Valerie Harson.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 48 years, Ronald Weathers; two sons, William M. Weathers and his wife Lisa and Jason C. Weathers and his wife Angela; four grandchildren, Eli Weathers, Madison Weathers, Morgan Weathers and Meredith Weathers; and two brothers, Michael Harson and his wife Manda and Kermit C. Harson, Sr. and his wife Nell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred Eli and Gladys Dupuis Harson; and her sister, Gloria Harson.
A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Judith graduated from Lafayette High School in 1959, attended SLI (now ULL) and began her banking career in 1961, working for First National Bank. After 42 years in the banking industry, she retired from Chase Bank as Director of Human Resources. She was a former member of the ABWA, National Association of Bank Women and Krewe of Xanadu. She enjoyed reading and cherished time with her grandchildren. Judith will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be William Weathers, Jason Weathers, Jeremy Harson, Jacob Harson, Cosmos Vickery and Chuck Harson.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
