LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at a 2:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Mary V Comeaux, age 84, the former Mary Primeaux, who passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at her residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette.
Mrs Comeaux was a native of Lyons Point and lived most of her life in Lafayette, having been a parishioner of St Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. A devout Catholic, Mary taught catechism for years at St Leo and St Elizabeth Seton. She also served communion to those who could not attend mass. Mary cherished her family and loved being surrounded by them. She will deeply be missed by all her family and friends.
Survivors include son Don Comeaux and wife Kelly of Lafayette; daughters Naomi Lassus of Brentwood, Tennessee and Karen Lowery and husband Les of Harvey; grandchildren Hunter Comeaux, Kaylee Babin and husband Matthew, Travis Lowery, Kristie Lowery, Marie Blanchard and husband Brian and one great grandchild, Colt Babin.
She was preceded in death by husband John Demus Comeaux; parents John Primeaux, Jr and the former Azina Theriot; son-in-law Joe Lassus; brothers Harry Primeaux, Huey Primeaux, Wilson Primeaux, Raleigh Primeaux and Alvin Primeaux and sister Medola Primeaux.
A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am Tuesday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 am Tuesday until service time Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, the Comeaux family would like to request donations be made to Acadian Hospice, 413 Travis Street, Ste 100, Lafayette Louisiana 70503.
Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave, Carencro, (337) 896-3232 is in charge of arrangements.
