She was born on May 19, 1927, to Edgar and Mary Hendrick Jarriett in Campti, LA. She was a devout Catholic lady, a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and was very active in the Catholic Daughters organization. A longtime supervisor of the lunchroom at Parks Elementary, she enjoyed being a servant to so many children over the years. Her civic contributions were never-ending as she volunteered her time and served as a Pink Lady at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. She will be remembered as a great cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family. In her spare time she would sew and crochet, and made so many beautiful things for family and friends. She loved to dance and enjoyed life on earth and we take comfort in knowing she has received her eternal reward in heaven. Betty Jo was predeceased by her husband, Elmo Poche’; son, Wayne Poche’; a brother, Edgar Francis Jarriett; and her parents Edgar and Mary Jarriett. She is survived by her son, Ronnie Poche’ and his wife Karen of Natchitoches; daughter, Carolyn Pleasant and husband Doyle of Marthaville; brother, Nolan Charles Jarriett; sisters in law, Jerri Poche’ and Iva Jarriett; and a daughter in law, Wanda Poche’. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Michelle Poche’, Joey Poche’, Pat Poche’, Jim Poche’, Pete Pleasant, Kyle Pleasant, Courtnie St. Germain, and Shannon Harris; as well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to a special friend, Sherry Perez as well as to Hospice of Natchitoches for the care given during such a difficult time. In lieu of floral contributions, please make a donation to American Cancer Society in Betty Jo’s name.
