St Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at St Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St Martinville for Margie F Babin, 93, who passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm Tuesday and continue Wednesday at 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm Tuesday.

Rev Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Kimberly Doréand Caroline Champagne.
Interment will follow at St Michael Cemetery in St Martinville.

Margie worked many years as a supervisor with the Pepper Factory in St Martinville and some years with Trappey's Fine Foods as well. She believed that hard work never killed anyone and was proud to instill this life lesson into the hearts and minds of her family. She had a love for dancing and enjoyed making wonderful memories with those she held close to her. Above all, Margie's passion in life was providing a good life for the family that she so lovingly adored and treasured.

She is survived by daughters Debra Champagne of St Martinville and Rita B Worsham of New Iberia; grand -children, Jennifer Broussard, Pauline (David) Jordan, Michelle (Todd) Vallot, Jody (Etienne "Brush") Chevalon, Joey "Poncho" (Jamie) Lopez, Coty (Crystal) Romero, Kimberly (Ryan) Dore, Lovis (Caroline) Champagne, Skylar (Blair) Champagne and Amber (Amy) Champagne; great grandchildren Luke Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Dusty (Nikki) Vallot, Tyler (Katie) Vallot, Madyson Vallot, Cigi (Kirk) Kappel, Hunter Lopez, Cade Romero, Cami Romero, Thomas Dore, Peyton Dore, Carli Jo Champagne, Michael Champagne and Lilly Champagne; great-great grandchildren, Tanner Vallot, Dalton Vallot and Kate Kappel; son-in-law, Ulysses Lopez, and daughter-in-law, Diane Babin.

She was preceded in death by husband Lovis Babin; parents Joseph and Liticia Touchet Fremin; brother Leroy Fremin; sisters, Flo Fremin, Rosa Mae Landry, Victoria Dugas and Marie Derise; son Lewis Babin; daughter Barbara Lopez and great grandchild, Abby Lopez.

Pallbearers will be Luke Thompson, Coty Romero, Lovis Champagne, Joey "Poncho" Lopez, Thomas Doré, and Skylar Champagne.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Thompson and Peyton Doré.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all those who attributed to Margie's care during her illness. Special acknowledgement goes to Grace Hospice and also to her grandchildren, Amber, Amy, Skylar and Blair Champagne, all of whom provided assistance with such kindness and compassion.
