Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Rudolph Louis Peter Jr., 80, who passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Sara Fusilier and Debra Johnson. Gift bearers will be Noah Peter, Noel Peter, and Jordan Handy.
Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Peter worked his entire life for the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads until retirement. During his free time, he enjoyed watching old western movies and WWE, especially with his grandson. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sons, Randy Peter and wife Dawn of Breaux Bridge and Rudolph "Rudy" Peter, III and wife Bethalum of Rayne; his daughter, Cynthia Sam and husband Cleveland of Breaux Bridge; brother, Robert Lee Peter and wife Marie of Lafayette; sisters, Linda Peter of Breaux Bridge and Gloria Hypolite of Parks; 13 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife, Lucille Davis Peter; parents, Rudolph Sr, and Ida Edmond Peter; sisters, Willia Mae Borel, Velma Pickney, Mary Ann Peter, Alice Joyce Ledet, and Lois Smith; brother, Phillip Peter; and a grandchild, Prince Bernard Peter.
Pallbearers will be Donavon Sam, Darien Sam, Ryan Peter, Ivory Stagg, Melvin Davis, and Jordan Handy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rudolph Peter, Randy Peter, Robert Lee Peter, Alvin Smith, Cleveland Sam, and Leo Davis.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge, 211 Berard St., Breaux Bridge, LA 70517, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
