Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, February 12, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Alma Dugas Demouchet, 86, who passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Friday, followed by words of comfort from Pastor Todd Menard and Elder Linda Harding-Harris. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge. Alma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, who truly cherished her family. She loved to cook and was known in Breaux Bridge for her bread pudding and cornbread dressing. She enjoyed hosting Bible study on her front porch. Alma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Randy Dugas and Rodney James Dugas (Evola); daughters, Eva Dell Dugas, Rita D. George, Marie Louise Dugas-Dorsey, and Princess Dugas; sister, Daisy D. Williams; grandchildren, John Alexander (Jessica), Krystal Dorsey, Edward Blair Dorsey (Amber), Dawn C. George, Randy Dugas, Lashea Dugas, Faith Dorsey, Dana F. George, Rotasha Dugas, Roshanda Dugas, Princess Diana Dugas, and Craig Cameron Grooms; 23 great-grandchildren; and her Godchildren, Lisa Potier, Donna Sam, and Clarence Chavis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Paul Demouchet; father, Allen Dugas; mother, Louise Lewis; brothers, Gilbert Joseph, Ernest Joseph, Ceaser Joseph, Harold Dugas, Leroy Dugas and Earl P. Dugas; sisters, Marie C. Demouchet, Mary C. Davis, Margaret Lambert, and Beatrice Skipper; and her son-in-law, Johnny E. George. Pallbearers will be John Alexander, Edward Blair Dorsey, Randy Dugas, Craig Cameron Grooms, Jaden Alexander, and Christian Allen Archangel. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Randy Dugas, Rodney James Dugas, Jace Dale Dorsey, Wilton Demouchet, Gilbert Dugas and Frederick Lewis. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge, 211 Berard St., Breaux Bridge, LA 70517, (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
