Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Cora Mae Toliver, 76, who passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 8:00 am on Thursday. Rev. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reading the scriptures will be Quiashia Broussard and Kailaine Toliver. Gift bearers will be Megan Toliver and Porscha Cowans. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred Toliver Sr. of Breaux Bridge; sons, Alfred (Ruby Johnson) Toliver Jr. of Breaux Bridge, Michael (Marilyn Jolivette) Toliver of Lafayette, McKinley (Maureen) Toliver of St. Martinville; daughters, Bernadette (Farrell) Gotch ,Theresa (Russell) Broussard, Rebecca Toliver, Nazy Jean (Bruce) Mills all of Houston, TX, Lillian Toliver (Dallas Antoine) of Breaux Bridge, Alfreda (Ricardo) Cowans of Lafayette; her honorary daughter, Carmelita Green Dugas; brother, Robert Johnson of Cecilia; sisters, Angel Prejean Hollins of Breaux Bridge, Rita Johnson Bates of Crowley, Anna Williams of Carencro; 27 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Theresa Clement Johnson; her sons, Alvin and McKinley Toliver; her brothers, Joseph, Cornelius and Freddie Johnson; her sister, Melba Thibodeaux Mabrough; grandchild, Nakita Lashaun Broussard; great grandchildren, Tayshaun Isiah Dirden and Roderick Hollis.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Dirden, Jr., Kevin Williams, Michael Davis, Elthanius Toliver, Reginald Toliver and Dracon Dirden.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Carver & Dauterive 416 Dauterive St., Breaux Bridge, Louisiana 70517, (337-332-2005) is in charge of arrangements.
