Elsie Marie Thibodeaux Parsons, 84, died at 10:30 am Thursday, November 18, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Baton Rouge. Visitation at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, Friday, November 19, 5 pm to 8 pm, with recitation of the rosary at 7 pm Visitation at St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly, Saturday, November 20, 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, celebrated by Reverend Matt Dupre. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by daughters, Mary Kay Parsons Vince and husband Michael and Brenda Parsons Mayer and husband Kevin; son Brian Thomas Parsons and wife Peggy; sisters Cecile LeJeune and husband Edwin and Marceline Naquin and husband Milton; brothers James Thibodeaux and wife Helen and Hubert Thibodeaux and wife Shirley and grandchildren Jason Titone and wife Jessica, Rachel Titone, Lauren Titone, Matthew Vince and wife Amanda, Marshall Vince and wife Samantha, Eric Parsons, Luke Fontenot, Chelsea Mayer and Andy Mayer. She was preceded in death by husband Hercel Ray Parsons; daughter Elizabeth Claire "Sissy" Parsons; parents Raymond and Edvige Thibodeaux; sisters Nydia Doiron and Gloria Alexandry; brothers Raymond Thibodeaux Jr, Larry Thibodeaux and Gerald Thibodeaux. Elsie was an avid sports fan and she especially loved watching LSU, the Astros and the Saints on television. She was very competitive and was always ready to play cards and any other kind of games with her family and friends. She loved watching things grow and always tended to a vegetable garden. Her grandchildren were her prized possessions and she was very proud of their accomplishments. Special thanks to Dr Steven Pollet, Dr Christopher McCanless and their staffs for the care they have provided. Pallbearers will be Jason Titone, Matthew Vince, Marshall Vince, Eric Parsons, Luke Fontenot and Richard Parsons.
