Services for Ethel Henderson Martin, 87, of Ferriday, Louisiana, who died Monday, June 3, 2014, at Christus St Francis Cabrini, Alexandria, Louisiana, will be Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Harvest Baptist Church with the Bishop Justin Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM at St James Baptist Church on Skipper Drive in Ferriday.

Mrs Martin was born October 13, 1927, in Clayton, Louisiana, daughter of Walter and Beatrice Wallace Henderson. Mrs Martin was preceded in death by parents, brothers Walter Henderson and Ernest Henderson. Survivors include sons Lawrence (Sherria) Martin, Jr; Rev Lee (Juanita) Martin, Sr; Eddie (Joyce) Martin and Joseph Martin, all of Ferriday, Billy (Karen) Martin of Houston, Texas; daughters Patricia Martin of Ferriday; Annie Palms and Gladys (Joseph) McCray, both of Houston, Texas; brothers Louis (Arnestine) Henderson, Leon (Linda) Henderson, Cemuel (Priscilla) Henderson and Wilbert Henderson all of Ferriday; Leroy Henderson and Jesse (Rosalin) Henderson both of New Orleans, Louisiana; Oliver (Mattie) Henderson of Chicago, Illinois; Sisters Ernestine Harris, Virginia (Ike) Washington, Thelma Webb and Elizabeth Calhoun, all of Ferriday; god-daughter Archia Watson of Ferriday; thirty grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren; a special cousin Lela Petty of Newellton, Louisiana; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
