1832 - March 4, 1897
He was born in Alabama. He enlisted as a Private on May 14, 1862, in Many, Louisiana, and was assigned to Company E, 11th Battalion Louisiana Infantry. On November 3, 1863, his battalion was consolidated with the Crescent Regiment Louisiana Infantry. He was promoted to the 5th Sergeant and assigned to Company I, Consolidated Crescent Regiment Louisiana Infantry. On April 8, 1864, he was wounded at the Battle of Mansfield, Louisiana. His name appeared on a Roll of Prisoners Of War on May 26, 1865, after his unit surrendered in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was paroled June 10, 1865, in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
