Funeral services for Mrs. Bruno Strauss, 83, a former resident of Shreveport and an author, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Strauss died early Friday in Chapel Hill, N.C. She was the widow of Dr. Bruno Strauss, professor of history and German at Centenary College, who died last May. Dr. Strauss was a member of the Centenary faculty from 1939 until his retirement in 1968. Mrs. Strauss, a native of Germany, was the author of a number of books in both German and English. Among her works was a biography of the late Jessie Sampter, Jewish poet and journalist. Survivors include a son, Dr. Albrecht Strauss of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a cousin, Mrs. Nathan Goldstein of Shreveport. Officiating in services for Mrs. Strauss will be Dr. David Lefkowitz, pastor of B'nai Zion Temple (The Shreveport Times - February 21, 1970)
