Bette Ann was born Bette Ann Gugenheim in Waco, Texas on May 4, 1922. She was the only daughter of Abe and Gladys Gugenheim. A reception will held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 249 Wedgewood Dr., Shreveport, with Rabbi Dr. Jana L. De Benedetti.
Bette Ann met and married James M. Manhein while they were in college and married just before he shipped out in the Army Air Corps for service in World War II. She lived in Shreveport from 1945 until the time of her death on September 20, 2015. She was active in B'nai Zion Temple Sisterhood. She lived for her family and friends. Gardening was her passion as were her weekly Mahjong games with her lifetime friends.
Bette Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her daughter, Carol Manhein Crane; and her son, James M. Manhein, II. She is survived by her grandsons, Jay Crane of Monroe, Louisiana and Jared Manhein of New York City; her son-in-law, Keith Crane of St. Joseph, Louisiana; and her dog, Rufus.
