Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 18, 2013 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lafayette for Robert Junius Breaux, age 82, who passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at his residence in Lafayette.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. The Rev. Rofinus Jas, S.V.D., Associate pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the service.
Mr. Breaux was a life-long resident of Lafayette. He served in the United States Army for 7 years. He was happily married for 60 years to his loving wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Breaux. He was a hunter, fisherman, and rooster-fighter for most of his life. He loved watching old western movies, planting flowers, or tending his garden.
Robert Breaux is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth St Julien Breaux, his two daughters: PauletteFoster of Maryland, Carla McZeal (Howard) of Lafayette, one son Bryant Breaux (Ginger) also of
Lafayette; one sister Alice Faye Colomb of Lafayette, two brothers, Alan Breaux of Cecilia and Emmanuel Breaux of Lafayette, 8 grand-children, 12 great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Junius and Alice Breaux, two brothers, Arthur and Albert Breaux, and three sisters Dorothy Francis, Laura Malveaux, and Anita Smith.
A rosary will be prayed during visiting hours at the funeral home on Monday.Visiting hours will be observed at Kinchen Funeral Home from 7:00 a.m. Monday until the time of service.
Kinchen Funeral Home Inc in Lafayette is in charge of the arrangements.
