Lafayette: Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11:00am at Kinchen Funeral Home in Lafayette.

Born, Leona St. Julien on October 5, 1948 to the late Sidney and Ida Hopkin St. Julien in Lafayette, LA. Leona was a devoted wife to her late husband, Herbert Malveaux. She was a loving and caring mother to her children: two sons; Mitchell and Sidney and one daughter Ashley.

Leona loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved the outdoors and if you were rocking going to the casino she was rolling too. When the car moved she moved. Whether you were going to the movies or the grocery store, she was a passenger. She was a woman who spoke her mind and told you just how it was. Spending time with her grandchildren; Je’na, Mitchell Jr, Kaitlyn, Mckenzie and Chloe were a great love for hers, they were near and dear to her heart.

She retired from Lafayette General Medical Center after 30 plus years of service as a cook.

On Friday, June 1, 2018 it brought great sadness and loss to our hearts. Our beloved Leona was called home while at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA.

“She will never be forgotten and dearly missed”.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, two sons; Mitchell (Katina) Malveaux of Youngsville, LA and Sidney Malveaux of Lafayette, LA., one daughter, Ashley Malveaux of Lafayette, LA., one sibling; Elizabeth St. Julien Breaux of Lafayette, LA., five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and her beloved dog; Bella Malveaux, and a host of nieces, nephews, a godchild, relatives and friends.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Malveaux, parents; Sidney and Ida Hopkin St. Julien, one brother; Joseph St. Julien, maternal grandparents; Leonce Hopkin and Lydia Johnson, paternal grandparents; Lucian and Millie St. Julien, aunts; Eunice Hopkin, Mary Figaro and Mabel St. Julien, uncles; Leon Hopkin and Phillip Hopkin, brother-in-law; Robert Breaux and sister-in-law; Elizabeth St. Julien.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 7:00am to 10:45am at Kinchen Funeral Home.
