Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Paul Catholic Church in Lafayette for Mary Gladys Jackson.

Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery following the service.

Mary Gladys Jackson was born April 6, 1931 to Amy Solomon Jackson and Henry Jackson, Sr. in Lake Providence, Louisiana. She was the last of six children. Mary was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana at the time of her death. Prior to this time, Gladys, as she was affectionately known to many, resided in other places including Tallulah and Shreveport, Louisiana, Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Port Arthur, Texas. She lived her life as though the next day was not promised. One of her precious treasures was her grandkids whom she gave her all to, expressed many stories, and provided valuable life lessons for them to cherish. Gladys enjoyed cooking, playing card games, sitting on her porch entertaining family and friends, and simply "being Ms. Gladys" or "Cousin Gladys".

On September 30, 2015 Mary departed life on earth and entered her heavenly home. She leaves behind to continue her legacy three sons: Harper Smith Jr. (Earlean) of Lake Providence, LA, Eddie Smith, Sr. (Olivia) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Edward Jackson of Lafayette, LA; two daughters Barbara Jackson Guillory and Amy Jackson Lewis (Herman Sr.) both of Lafayette LA; 31 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; three grandchildren whom she reared and raised: Patrice Jackson, Cedric Jackson, and Qualantre' Jackson; three godchildren: Odelia Prejean, Wilda Carmouche, and Robert Boutte; a constant and dedicated friend and neighbor, Imelda Babineaux McKinley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Faye Jackson; her parents Amy and Henry Jackson, Sr.; siblings: Henry Jackson, Jr., Enola Jackson Bradford, Annie Mae Jackson, Columbus Jackson, and George Jackson; one son-in-law Raleigh J. Guillory Jr.

Mary Gladys Jackson will forever be loved and cherished and have captured a place in the hearts of so many.

A presentation of the rosary will be recited at 9:30AM at the Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 7:00AM to 10:30AM at Kinchen Funeral Home in Lafayette.
