Mary "Louise" Charles Crouchet was born January 19, 1928 in Carencro. LA to the late Amos Charles and Camelia Felix Charles.
Louise was a loving mother of 11 children. She was a hard working woman who raised her children (with the help of her mother-in-law) despite her husband passing at an early age. She was the epitome of strength, holding her family together. Her life was truly all about family. She enjoyed cooking and dancing... inviting family and friends over to have a good time swinging out to some R. Kelly. Everyone was always welcome at 522.
"Mom"... it's no mistake at all it's what everyone calls her. Not only has she been a mother to her 11 birth children, but also her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family friends who she consider family anyway and also strangers who became friends. She was a caring person who was always there to help anyone in need. She will definitely be greatly missed.
Louise departed this life peacefully on Tuesday March 22, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center. She leaves to cherish her memories five daughters: Mary Selena (Lonnie) Keith, Linda Gail (Franklin) Prejean, Jessica Crouchet all of California, Evolia Ann Crouchet and Dabney BeBee (the late Clayton) Landor both of Lafayette,LA; five sons Michael Crouchet, Rotanna Crouchet, Ronald Crouchet, Leo "Pat" Crouchet, and Emile "Neil" Crouchet all of Lafayette,LA; Two sisters, Verna Babineaux and Anna Francis both of Lafayette; Two brothers, Peter Charles and James Charles both of Lafayette, LA; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Crouchet two god children,Carlton Wilson and Terel Landor both of Lafayette, LA; 24 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 24 great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews (two who held a special place in her heart, Clifton Francis and Alfreda Francis) relatives, and friends.
