LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church for Josephine Theresa Bell, 70, who died peacefully at home on February 19, 2017 in Oakland, CA.
Services will be conducted by Father Hampton Davis.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
"Josie" will be dearly missed by her two favorite grandchildren, Cornell and Tyanna Clay, three daughters, Tyra Lloyd, Tamela Lloyd-Carraway, both of San Francisco CA and Latricia Large of St. Louis MO.
Josephine was an outstanding cook and homemaker, who enjoyed preparing meals for her beloved family and friends. Her kitchen was never closed and always filled with laughter and love.
She leaves behind one sister, Cecelia V. Smith of Lafayette, LA; three brothers, Harold, Kirby and Kenneth Valliere, all of Lafayette, LA; son-in-law, Roderick Carraway of Oakland; former husband, Leonard Bell of Seattle, Washington and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, other relatives and friends to cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Effie Valliere, Sr.; sister, Bernadette V. Griffin; brothers, David Valliere, Dennis Valliere Jr. and twin nephews, Wilbert and Willie Valliere.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Syrie Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
