Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Martin McCuen, 78, will be held Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in Union Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Buford officiating. Interment will follow in White Hall Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill.

Visitation will be at the home of Mrs. McCuen, 110 McCuen Rd., Shongaloo, Louisiana.

Mrs. McCuen was born June 5, 1931 in Shongaloo, Louisiana to Lonnie Calhoun and Ruby Mae Dean Martin and passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Shreveport,Louisiana following a lengthy illness. She was a member or Union Springs Church, a hairdresser for many years and was a number one deer hunter in Shongaloo.

She is survived by her husband, of 34 years, Carlton McCuen; her son, Jackie Harbour and wife, Debbie of Clinton, Arkansas; step-daughter, Jeanifer Drury and husband, Luke of League City, Texas; stepson, Dennis McCuen of Dickinson, Texas; grandchildren, Carlyn Tall and husband, Jonathan of Zachary, Stacey Castillo and Paul of Midland, Texas, Mike Walker, Nicole Drury, Taylor Drury, Sidney Drury; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise Wyrick of Emerson, Arkansas, Betty Laney of Morringsport, Valdia Teer of Vivian; brother, Gerald Martin of Magnolia, Arkansas; sister-in-law, JoAnn Martin of Springhill; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McCuen was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Daymon Martin, Rex Martin, Jimmy Martin, Bobby Martin and two sisters, Wanda and Teegie Martin

Pallbearers will be Perry Wall, Ricky Wyrick, Mike MaGee, Russell Bramblett, Richard Farrington and Albert Morgan.
