Lafayette – Dalton “Skippy” Howard, Sr, 90, died March 25, 2020 at his home of 55 years.Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Dalton was born to the late Beatrice Gabriel and Victor Howard. He loved going to the casino and playing cards. He also loved having his large family at his home. After driving for Mayflower Trucking for 12 years and working 15 years for Lafayette Consol-idated Government, he retired November 30, 1991.He is survived by son Dalton Howard, Jr (Emma); daughters Lovie Howard (Ronald Griffin), Betty Joseph (John Henry, Jr); daughter-in-law, Ella Howard; sister Rose Margaret Arceneaux; he also cared for Quincy Willis (Anita) and Steven Jacobs (Stephanie); 17 grand -children; 33 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins an friends who knew him as “Skippy.”

He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Marie Howard; daughter Mary Ann Howard; son Raymone “T-Pop” Howard, Sr; parents Beatrice Gabriel and Victor Howard; sister-in-law Idelle Gotch; brother-in-law John Raymond Phillips and a special aunt Ella Brooks.
