Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011, 11:00 am, Refuge Temple, 2631 Louisiana Ave, Lafayette, LA 70501, for Marcus “Dino” Sonnier, 40, who passed away January 16, 2011 at OLOL Regional Medical Center. He will be buried in Calvary Cemetery. Pastor Joseph Carmouche will officiate the service.

He was employed with Frank Casing International, he also served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg North Carolina.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife Shamera Sonnier of Lafayette, LA sons Malik and Mylo Sonnier; daughters Desiree and Sharee Sonnier all of Lafayette, LA; mother Ethel Castex of Lafayette; brothers Marshall “Chico” Sonnier and his wife Carmen Sonnier of Friendswood, TX, Richard Daniels of Singapore, China; sister April Brown and her husband Norman Brown of Baton Rouge, LA and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles “C.J.” Sonnier, stepfather Calvin Castex, maternal and paternal grandparents Jules and Nora Cormier, Willie and Ida Sonnier, uncles Joseph June Cormier, Willis Sonnier, Milton and Alton Sonnier, aunts Janet Angelle, Mable Sonnier, Eva Dell Sonnier, Iris Mouton and her husband Dan.

The family has requested that viewing be observed January 22, 2011 from 7 am until the time of service at Refuge Temple, 2631 Louisiana Ave, Lafayette, LA 70501.

Kinchen Funeral Home, Inc is in charge of Final arrangements.
