Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery following the funeral.

Martha Jane Carmouche Wiltz was born to the late Alex Carmouche and Marjorie Martin Carmouche on January 21, 1956. She was baptized at an early age at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lafayette, La. She attended St. Paul Catholic School and graduated from Northside High School in 1975 in Lafayette, La. She was united in love with her soulmate John Lasseigne for 25 years until his passing in 2012.

She was preceded in death by her father Alex Carmouche, her sister Geralyn Carmouche and her soulmate John Lasseigne.

Martha lost her battle to lung cancer on December 28, 2020. She passed away peacefully in the family home where she was born and raised. She was surĀrounded by her family.

She leaves to mourn years of beautiful memories; her devoted mother; Marjorie Carmouche, three sisters; Marilda Carmouche Dupree, Anelia Carmouche Jeffcoat (Larry) and Gallen Carmouche Edmond (Russell-deceased), her three brothers; Elvis Carmouche, Jeffrey Carmouche and Dwayne Carmouche (Melissa), her two daughters; Tiffany Carmouche Charles (Kendell) and Amie Wiltz Charles (Quincy) all of Lafayette, La. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Trey Carmouche, Kayla Charles, Kyren Charles, Brenen Charles, Kamen Charles and Bailey Charles, two great-grandchildren; Kai Carmouche and Kanan Leblanc along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

Martha's life epitomized true christianship through faithfully devoted years of attending mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She obtained a Culinary Arts Degree from Lafayette Regional Vocational Technical Center where she graduated with Honors in 1995. She worked for the State Halfway House where she was a manager for many years. She also worked for the Lafayette Parish School System until God permitted her not.

She remained devoted to her family where she loved to cook, dance and spend time with her daughters and grandchildren. She had a kind and giving heart. She was feisty and would often say "You Look Good And You Gon Feel Better". She would often tell others, "Pray Don't Worry, Worry Don't Pray".

She will be truly missed!

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
