Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Lawrence "Black" Mouton, 76 who departed his earthly life on September 5, 2011 at his residence in Lafayette, Louisiana. Lawrence "Black" Mouton was born July 18, 1935 to the late Mary Alice Alfred Mouton and Garfield Mouton. He was a loving, caring and compassionate person. He was a meticulous, persistent and hard worker. On the day of his death, someone commented, "It's not an accident that he would die on Labor Day." He was a faithful employee at Budweiser for 59 years and considered a member of the Schilling family. A man who one would say was small in stature but a virtuous giant when it came to his family, friends and fellow workers. An active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where he served as an usher.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 52 years Dorothy Bernard Mouton; sons: Ballard Wayne Mouton, Sr (Elise), Todd O'Neal Mouton (Donna Lynn), Troy Lee Mouton (Fency Allen), and Kirk Damon Mouton (LaJaka) all of Lafayette, Louisiana; daughters: Marie Antoinette Mouton Randle (Kenneth) and Iantha Carston (Tony) of Lafayette, Louisiana; sister: Dorothy D. Mouton (Francis) of Fort Launderdale, Florida; brothers: Rushton Mouton, Carlton Mouton and Wilfred "TNeg" Mouton (Lydia) all of Lafayette, Louisiana and Roy Mouton of Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in dead by his parents Mary Alice Alfred Mouton and Garfield Mouton; siblings Joseph Mouton, Alton Mouton, Eddie Mouton, Gilbert Mouton, Ella Mae Washington, Lilly Green, Martha Alexander, Mable Dean, Rose Helen Woods, Mildred Chevalier and Hazel Mouton.
Viewing will be Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Kinchen Funeral Home from 7:00 AM - 10:30 AM.
