RAYNE - Christine Francis Julien, 52, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The daughter of the late Walter Lee Francis, Sr. and Annie Mae Wilturner Francis. Christine graduated from Rayne High School, class of 1980. She had countless friends there and remained close with them. Christine had a heart that was full of love. Anytime she had the opportunity to help others, she went out of her way to help. She was the life of the party, and knew how to have a good time. She was a strong believer in Christ; she enjoyed going to church and reading her Bible daily. She loved spending time with friends, family, children and grandchildren. To her grandchildren she was "Mi-Mi." Christine's favorite past-time was shopping. Everyone in the mall knew her on a first name basis. Christine went by the nickname "Ms. Chancellor", a name her family had chosen because she was always decked out, dressed from head to toe. Christine told her best friend that when she passed her headstone was going to read "I enjoyed my life;" and she did. She is survived by her two children, Christian (Lincoln) Narcisse and Marcus Monroe of Lafayette, LA; two grandchildren, Chrysta Narcisse and Chloe' Narcisse of Lafayette, LA; her mother Annie Mae Wilturner Francis of Rayne, LA; four brothers, Walter (Shirley) Francis, Jr., Coy Francis, Al (Wendy) Francis and Calvin (Andrea) Francis of Rayne, LA; five sisters, Bernadine Senegal, Earline Francis and Annie Francis of Rayne, LA; Debra Cleveland and Cherry Pickett of Dallas, TX and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Francis, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Amy Harmon Wilturner; maternal grandfather, Ernest Wilturner; paternal grandmother, Ida Chevis Francis; paternal grandfather, Louis Francis; two aunts, Betty Wilturner and Willie Mae Monroe. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Cunningham CME church with Pastor Mary Ann Cole officiating. Wilturner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will begin Saturday, August 3 at 8:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m.
