Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church for Janelle B Jean-Batiste Benoit who departed this life Friday, November 27, 2015 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Services will be conducted by Fr Hampton Davis, III.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Janelle was a devoted and faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary. She will always be remembered for her tenacity and her devotion to our Blessed Mother, Mary, Queen of Peace.
She leaves to cherish her memories husband of 47 years, Joseph Milton Benoit; son Donovan Benoit; granddaughter Brianna Benoit, whom she loved and cherished, all of Lafayette, Louisiana, sister JoAnn Jean-Batiste Breaux of Lafayette,; brothers Charles Ray Jean-Batiste of Lafayette and Joseph Telba Davis of Cold Spring, Texas; brother-in-law Robert Benoit, Sr; loyal and devoted friends Dianne McZeal Williams, Mary Davis, Genevieve Porter and Chesterbelle Bernard, all of Lafayette; a dear cousin-in-law, Rita Williams of Lafayetteand a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents Mary and Frances Jean-Batiste and a niece and godchild, Francine Renee’ Jean-Batiste.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7:00 am until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am.
