Lafayette: Funeral services will be held at Kinchen Funeral Home Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 am for Charles Rufus Catalon who passed away at UHC Friday, February 2, 2018. His spirit is resting in a better place now, away from the heartache and pains of this world.

Charles Rufus Catalon was born September 19, 1951 to Ella Mae Thibeaux Catalon and Rufus Catalon of Lafayette, Louisiana. He was the oldest of 3 children. Charles was married to JoAnn B Catalon.

Charles graduated from Paul Breaux High School in May of 1970. On July 17, 1970, Charles went to Job Corp and later went to the United States Marine Corps. His loves were rabbit hunting, training horses and chickens.

He leaves to cherish his memories his son Kevin Charles Catalon (Nanette) of Lafayette; Sergeant First Class John Travis Breaux of Killeen, Texas; Brittany Battle of Atlanta, Georgia; a favorite brother-in-law Harold Breaux Sr and wife Betty Breaux; brother Calvin Catalon; 3 grand children, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by mother Ella Mae Catalon, father Rufus Catalon, brother Alvin Catalon, sister-in-law Nancy Catalon, and grand -mothers Effie Catalon and Olivia Pillette Thibeaux.
