Alphenia Plantation West Mound
Alphenia Landing, Tensas Parish, Louisiana
The Alphenia Plantation Site originally consisted of four mounds located in the cardinal directions. Only three mounds remain today---the North, West, and East mounds. This cemetery is located at the top of the mound and consists of several graves. Some grave markers are intact while others are broken; and some have nothing more than initials. There are some large slabs of marble that did not have any visible inscriptions when the site was documented; however there may be something present on the bottom side if they are able to be moved.
