Alphenia Plantation East Mound Cemetery
Tensas County,

Alphenia Plantation East Mound
Alphenia Landing, Tensas Parish, Louisiana

The Alphrnia Plantation Site originally consisted of four mounds located in the cardinal directions. Only three mounds remain today---the North, West, and East mounds. This "cemetery" is located at the base of the east mound, on it's southern side. The graves were not grouped together but instead, appeared to have been placed haphazardly with little rhyme or reason. There was a small area that was fenced in but no grave marker was present.
