NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Louis Bonin, Sr., the former, Jeanne LeBlanc, age 88, at 10:00 am Wednesday April 25, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Green officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday until service time.

A native of St. Martinville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bonin passed away at 11:10 on Sunday April 22, 2012 at Belle Teche Nursing Home.

Jeanne enjoyed reading and playing bingo. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Louis “L. J.” Bonin, Jr. and wife Tammy of New Iberia; daughter, Jessie Nelson and husband Dave of New Iberia; grandchildren, Kevin “Tope” Pellerin, Chad Pellerin, Leah Ford, Richard Pellerin, Jr., Chancey Nelson, Amber Armentor, Jayson Bonin, Sheena DeRouen Hust, Zachery DeRouen, and Ashley DeRouen; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; brother, Edward LeBlanc; and sisters, Lilly May Broussard and Mathilde L. Thibodeaux.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J Bonin, Sr.; daughter, Dianne Pellerin; granddaughter, Rochell Ann Pellerin; parents, Alberie and Madline Borel LeBlanc; brothers, Harry A. LeBlanc, Norris LeBlanc, Murphy LeBlanc, and Clayduis LeBlanc; and sisters, Shirley Duhon and Barbara Lee LeBlanc.

Pallbearers will be L. J. Bonin, Kevin Pellerin, Chad Pellerin, Richard Pellerin, Jr., Chancey Nelson, and Joe Picard.

Honorary pallbearer will be Zachery DeRouen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart of Hospice, 201 W. Vermillion St., Suite 100, Lafayette, LA 70501.
