Mausoleum

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 1:30 PM in Cathedral of St John the Evangelist in Lafayette for Trudy Sturlese Heflin, 67, who died on Friday, January 26, 2018 at her residence in Lafayette.

Entombment will be in St John Mausoleum.

The Very Reverend Chester C Arceneaux, VF, Rector of Cathedral of St John the Evangelist will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the services.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Robert W "Bob" Heflin; son, Scott Guidry; mother, Mildred Savoie Sturlese; sisters, Donna McDonald and husband Pat, Mona Turner and husband Rand and Kathryn Dupuis and husband Ferdie; and brothers Richard Sturlese and wife, Linda and David Sturlese and wife, Sharon.

She was preceded in death by her father, Adam Sturlese.

Trudy Sturlese Heflin was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana and resided in Lafayette for most of her life. Mrs Heflin was a graduate of Cathedral Carmel School Class of 1968, and went on to USL where she earned her degree in Accounting. She was Executive Secretary for Southern Oilman's Tennis Tournament. She was also a member of the Krewe of Bonaparte where she served as Premier and Queen Josephine the 27th. Mrs. Heflin enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 10:00 AM until time of services.
