Mozelle Hayden Brooks, 91, passed away in her home on January 19, 2018 in Doyline, LA. She was born April 6, 1926 in Dubach, LA to Arthur and Rosie Hayden and was the oldest of six children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hugh Brooks, former husband Marion White and brother, Hubert Hayden.

Mozelle graduated from high school in Dubach, LA in 1943. She worked for the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant for a period of years in Doyline and later worked for the Louisiana State Park System at Lake Bistineau where she retired after many years of service.

Granny Mo, as she was referred to by grandchildren and all, was a feisty little woman with a lot of spunk. She loved life including flowers, hummingbirds, traveling and most of all her fishing on Lake Bistineau. Many friends and family remember her for her cute little giggle. Granny Mo loved the Lord and was a member of Doyline Baptist Church.

She loved her family dearly.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, David A. (Tony) White and Edie and Marvin W. (Russ) White. Grandchildren are Tessa White Haggard and Marty, Lance Weston White and Haley, Sara White and Richard. Great grandchildren are Weston White, Jamey Haggard, Mia White, Saylor White, Sean White, Aiden Mulligan and one on the way, Emerson Paige White. Brothers are Arthur Lee Hayden, Jr., Robert Wayne Hayden and Diane, and James Edward Hayden. One sister, Jaquatta Tubbs and Curtis. Many loved nieces and nephews and special ones who loved Granny Mo, Carolyn Hayden and Debra Dutton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Doyline First Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Pearson officiating. Interment will follow at Doyline Cemetery in Doyline, LA under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, LA. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Kim Sparish for the loving compassionate care she gave to Granny Mo.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Doyline First Baptist Church.
